Established in the Xuhui District in November 1949, Shanghai Film Studio is also known as the “Hollywood in Shanghai.” The museum, which was opened to film enthusiasts in June 2013, boasts 4 flours each featuring a distinct theme.

The exhibition area, covering 15,000 square meters, is divided into 4 main halls: Hall of Honor (1st Floor), Memories in Light and Shadow (2nd Floor), The Long History of Cinema (3rd Floor) and Film Workshops (4th Floor). Some of the highlights of the Shanghai Film Studio include Walk of Fame, Galaxy of Stars, Achievements of Masters, Nanjing Road in the Limelight and A Century’s History of Film Distribution and Exhibition. For ordinary tourists Nanjing Road in the Limelight area is the major attraction.

If you are a movie lover, then this is a must-go place for you. Visit the museum and get detailed information on the history of film-making and amuse yourself with the sights and sounds of motion pictures. You will also get a chance to dub your film in a real sound studio.
